High-tech artificial turf for TuS Frammersbach

The Trofil Sportbodensysteme GmbH & Co. KG completed a very special kind of project for the Franconian national league club TuS Frammersbach. An around 7,000 m2 large artificial turf field was installed that will grant the numerous football departments a completely new playing experience in the future. Contrary to the worn-out hard court, the new ground offers various advantages for the athletes. The club as the building owner profited from the expertise and innovation spirit of the company, seeking out the expert’s opinion from preparation to implementation. Trofil performs not only the professional laying, but proves for decades now that the in-house production of synthetic grass fibers, and hence the attribute Made in Germany, provides optimal results. Thus, an artificial turf field with the latest state-of-the-art technology was installed in Frammersbach. The club settled for the Multi Turf 40, which was laid on a joint-friendly in situ elastic layer. This turf system excels primarily because of its combination yarns: Eight monofilaments are found in only one stich consisting of four spiral yarns and four smooth yarns, which are differently shaped and differ furthermore in their yarn weight. The artificial turf features an innovation due to this technique that shows itself during wind and weather. The spiral-shaped yarn has a very strong uplifting behavior that lies established in the raw material’s characteristics. A more pleasant play behavior - especially in case of rain - is ensured by this means. The integrated smooth fibers affect furthermore the ball roll behavior and the reflection effects of the light, which is significantly reduced during floodlight games. Another important aspect is the plied yarn, which underlines the quality of the new field. These have higher knob stability and in this way, the latex surface underneath the artificial turf carpet embraces partially every single string. Additionally, an overall picture is created on which the classical turf line is hardly recognizable. It became clear at an early stage to the TuS Frammersbach club, that the artificial turf has a great volume and met therefore all requirements of a lifelike ground. Trofil takes advantage of the natural factor that the physical characteristics of the artificial turf are based among other things on temperature. The ground is continuously in motion because of temperature fluctuations and boosts therefore the durability of the artificial turf. The sports field was finally inaugurated, after the infilling of the area with ecofriendly rubber granulate and quartz sand. Because of the successful project course and the peculiarities during the implementation, the TuS Frammersbach and Trofil decided to work together on a long-term study concerning the characteristics of the turf yarns as well as the impact of the maintenance regarding the durability of the artificial turf. This will give Trofil further knowledge and hence help optimize continuously the quality of the traditional company’s product.
