RICO at POWTECH 2022

The company is presenting its REDisc pressure relief valve and gas-tight butterfly valves

At year's POWTECH, which takes place in Nuremberg from September 27 to 29, visitors can learn more about the gas-tight butterfly valves and the REDisc pressure relief valve, that RICO Sicherheitstechnik AG will show in hall 3A, booth 341. The REDisc pressure relief valve is the newest product in the RICO portfolio and particularly used in isolators to ensure pressure equalization in the event of increased overpressure. Due to the reliable opening and its 100% gas tightness, following DIN 12266-1 leakage rate A, it offers maximum safety. In contrast to other pressure relief valves, the connecting flange of REDisc has a special characteristic: It can be used as an intermediate flange, but is also available in a tri-clamp version suitable for DIN 32676, series A. During the development, the requirements of numerous isolator manufacturers - especially in the pharmaceutical industry - were taken into account, aiming to enable a fast, hygienic and uncomplicated installation. REDisc also offers advantages in terms of cost-effectiveness and therefore sets itself apart from its competitors. The functionality of the pressure relief valve is based on a mechanical principle. If there is an overpressure, the closing device changes from a closed to an open position, allowing the pressure to escape. When the pressure drops again, the valve closes by itself. The solution is primarily suitable for production areas with clean, filtered air. As REDisc is made of stainless steel and anodized aluminum, it has the required resistance for a use in the pharmaceutical sector. In addition to that, a high degree of flexibility is offered, as the valve can be adapted and configured to the most diverse user requirements.

RICO Sicherheitstechnik AG will also be presenting its products for gas-tight butterfly valves at the booth. They are suitable for variable pressure ranges and safety requirements of laboratories, isolators, biosafety laboratories BSL3 and BSL4 and even nuclear power plants (HEPA filter systems). “The fact that we offer our butterfly valves in a "free of ignition sources" ATEX version – and on request even with SIL level attachments - will cause great interest among the visitors", says Mario Allgäuer, Member of the Management Board, Head of R&D, SCM and Production at RICO. The butterfly valves control dust-free air flows and are able to close pipes 100% gas-tight. Depending on the use, customers can choose between different housings, butterflies and sealing materials. Even the drive can be chosen to be controlled manually, pneumatically or electrically, depending on the requirements. All butterfly valves convince with their compact and lightweight design and are equipped with the unique PERFEKT control groove. With the help of a hand pump, customers can check the tightness of the valve even when installed. If there is a leak, this check can save a lot of time.
